CRASH

My day started off with a car accident!!!! Let me first say thank you God that Harper and I are not seriously injured!!!! I was on my way to Fort Worth to take Harper to school. As we approached the light at the intersection of 377 and service road of 20 a purple Chevy Cavalier decided it was going togun it and try and make the left turn right in front of us. It didn't turn out so well. It was like we were moving in s-l-o-w m-o-t-i-o-n. I thought for a second, "Okay, maybe I will miss this car" but then quickly realized that wasn't possible. I then switched into acceptance and awaited the sound and feeling of impact. I couldn't even warn Harper with any real alarm. I could only mutter "Oh No!" and then BOOM followed by silence. Or at least I thought it was silent until I heard Harper saying "Ouch" holding her side. Then silence again. I now know I was most likely in shock. As I am writing this I think I am still a little in shock. I sat there not knowing what to do. No one from the other car got out. No other cars stopped. The flow of traffic continued. Look, my accident was not going to make people late for work whether I liked it or not!!! I just remember calling 911 and trying to explain to the operator that I was just in an accident, where I was located and that my daughter's side hurt. She asked me a simple question "What color is your car?" to which I had no answer. I couldn't even think of a color let alone what specific color my Civic was. This is when I realized I was acting weird and words were not coming as easily as they normally do. I started looking in my purse for my glasses and couldn't find them. Damn!!! I know I am going to have to read or sign something and I need my glasses!!!! Oh well. Harper said "Mom you're acting weird". Ok. Sit there and wait for the emergency crew. They finally arrived. A fireman opened my door and said "Are you okay?" and I said I thought so. He then said "Nice braces" which made me laugh and then cry. A paramedic checked Harper out and said she looked ok but was going to take her to the ambulance and get her BP and stuff. I don't really remember right after that but then someone said for me to go to the ambulance and I did. They said Harper was fine. She will probably be sore for the next few days. A fireman brought me my glasses. He found them on the floor board of my car. I then remembered I was wearing them when I was driving. They must have flown off my face on impact. My hair clip was crushed and hanging on for dear life. All of it's teeth were broken and in my hair. I must have really been bashed around. Long story short (too late) Harper and I are fine, my car is not but that doesn't matter. I can get a Honda any day but I could never have another Harper!!!!! Praise GOD!!!!
Go hug your child today. You never know when it might be the last chance to!!!!!

(On the bright side I got a VW Rabbit rental car!!!!! Yippy, I've always wanted to drive a VW!!!!!!)

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh...thank you Lord protecting Heather and Harper from injury. Amen!

Don't you hate how put out people are when something of major significance is happening to you. When I had the wreck on I30 when 7-months pregnant w/ Cash I actually had people flipping me off and cussing as they passed for holding up the traffic.

Anyways, so glad ya'll come out unharmed...God is Good!
