recipe from the Catholic Daughters of the Americas El Campo, TX cook book
I know it doesn't have a great name but this is yummy and is easy to make.
Preheat oven 350 degrees
Ingredients:
1 large can crushed pineapple
1 can cherry pie filling
1 box yellow cake mix
1 cup chopped pecans
1 stick butter
Directions:
Spread pineapple, including juice, in a 9x13 inch baking pan. Spoon the cherry pie filling on top and sprinkle dry cake mix over this (do not stir). Spread pecans over all and dot w/butter. Bake 45 mins to 1 hour at 350 degrees.
*to cut the sweetness substitute regular cherry pie filling w/sugar free cherry pie filling
